2020 Speedboat Spectacular

Celebrating 100 years of power boat racing at St. George Motor Boat Club

On 23 and 24 May 2020 the St. George Power Boat Club will be hosting the Centenary Spectacular at the St. George Motor Boat Club. $50,000 of prize money will be on offer plus four APBA Australian Championships.

On the following weekend, 30 and 31 May 2020, the club will be hosting a Vintage & Veteran Boat Demonstration (on water) and Display (On land) plus the Australian Formula Future Championships.

In order to finalise the line up of events, Expressions of Interest are now requested for the Speedboat Spectacular. Preliminary classes are listed on the following EOI form, plus provision for other classes to nominate. If sufficient requests are received for additional classes, consideration will be given to adding them to the program.

Entry fee for the Spectacular is $200 (sorry no early bird rates). Entries will open on 1 March 2020 and will close on 1 May 2020. Withdrawals with refund will be accepted 7 days from the event.

THERE WILL BE NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY.

Hydroplanes

6 litre Displacement

5.2 litre

105 mph

Unlimited Displacement

Unlimited Inboard

Formula 2 / Formula Optimax

Possible 4.2 litre

Additionally the following APBA Championship races have been allocated. Entries for all APBA Events must be lodged with the APBA in accordance with APBA rules:

Mary & Ernie Nunn GP Hydroplanes

Max Kirwin Unlimited Hydroplanes

Riverside Trophy (Unlimited Outboard & Unlimited car engine Inboard)

Lawson Shield (round 3) 6 litre Hydroplanes

Vintage & Veteran Boat On Water Demonstration

The Veteran & Vintage Boat On-Water Demonstration will be held on Saturday 30 May 2020. On land displays will also be held on this day, plus at other times throughout the month of May as room permits.

Entry fee for the On-Water Demonstration is $50

On Land display is free.

On-Water Demonstration vessels will be required to submit an entry form when required. Currently we are seeking Expressions of Interest from those who may be interested. Please complete and submit the form below.

SPEED LIMITS WILL APPLY TO BOATS NOT FITTED WITH A RATCHET STYLE OR FREE WHEELING TYPE OF PROP RELEASE.
